Is it cowardice to refuse to fight your enemy? Is it heroic to kill them instead?
Background
Being raised in the army, I was always bombarded with messages of fighting against the "enemy" to prove yourself as a man. This environment made me question my own masculinity as I didn't conform to the norms, nor did I carry on the family business.
Approach
I created this meditative narrative coming from the questions I had about myself growing up. I learnt fencing as a method of self-defence and integrated that as the background to my inquiry.
